Impressions
The voice coming from the elderberries is colorless, indicating melancholy.- Barbara Guest
These images reflect nothing more than a moment; the passing beauty of flowers.
Extreme close-ups examine the fragment, sacrificing the whole for its part—a shape or shadow, an undulating line, or deep structure that catches our eye. All the colors truly attempt to mimic nature, just as they were found. No matter how long I look at these images, they escape interpretation—under a steady gaze, their shapes and colors continually mutate but resist a fixed registration in the mind’s eye.
